I am actually glad you asked about that because I have been meaning to follow up. I finally got around to reading that book you mentioned, the one about the history of ceramics, and I have to say it surprised me. I thought it would be dry but the chapter on ancient Chinese kilns was genuinely interesting. Also I spoke with Sarah yesterday and she told me about her new puppy, which is apparently a handful but very cute. She sent photos and I cannot stop laughing at the one where the dog is chewing her slipper. I have been trying to convince my neighbour to adopt a rescue but he is still on the fence. Anyway I wanted to share that recipe you asked for, the one with the roasted vegetables and tahini dressing. I make it at least once a week now. I will type it out and send it over properly. Also if you are free next Saturday there is a small flea market near the park that I think you would like. Let me know.

I finally tried that sourdough starter recipe you gave me and honestly it went better than I expected. The first two days I thought I had killed it because nothing was bubbling but then on day three it suddenly came to life. I fed it twice a day for a week and ended up with enough to bake two loaves and give some to a friend. The crust came out really crunchy and the inside was soft with those nice airy holes. I also started a little herb garden on my windowsill, just basil and mint for now, but the basil is growing like crazy. I have been putting it on everything. Also I know you mentioned wanting to try that new hiking trail near the reservoir so if you want company on a weekend morning I am usually free. Just let me know a day ahead so I can pack some snacks.
