I finally got around to reading that book you recommended. It took me a couple chapters to get into it but once the story shifted to the main character's childhood I was hooked. The way the author describes the landscape really makes you feel like you're there. I kept picturing the places I visited last summer and it added another layer honestly. I think you'd really enjoy the second half especially the part about the old lighthouse. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy when I'm done I should finish it this weekend. Also thanks for the tip on that bakery near the station I stopped by yesterday and their sourdough is incredible bP3Wqdy1FN and the line was out the door but it moved fast and was absolutely worth it. I grabbed a loaf to bring to dinner at my sister's place and everyone raved about it. Anyway hope you're having a good week and we should catch up properly soon maybe this weekend if you're free.

I tried that new hiking trail you mentioned out near the lake last weekend and wow the views at the top were absolutely worth the climb. The first mile is pretty steep but after that it levels out and winds through this beautiful forest with these massive old oaks. There was a stream crossing about halfway that was really refreshing. I saw a deer maybe fifty feet away just watching me for a solid minute before it bounded off. I packed a simple lunch and sat on a rock at the summit for almost an hour just taking it all in. The weather was perfect not too hot with a nice breeze. I'll send you a few photos I took. There's also a small visitors center at the trailhead with some interesting exhibits about the local wildlife. I learned that the area used to be a fire lookout station back in the forties. I'm already planning to go back next month maybe camp overnight next time. Let me know if you want to join. It would be great to have someone along for the second trip.
