Hey, so I finally tried that hiking trail you mentioned last month.
Honestly, I totally underestimated how steep it gets after the first mile.
I ran out of water halfway through and had to filter some from a stream with my emergency straw. The view from the top was absolutely worth it though. I saw a family of deer just standing there like they owned the place.
Definitely pack more snacks next time. Let me know if you want to go again soon, maybe next Saturday morning? I think I'll be ready by then. Also, thanks for the tip about the parking pass – I almost forgot to print it out before I left. It saved me a ton of hassle at the gate.
Anyway, just wanted to share that quick story. Talk later! g9tfvO7uSPYvnBT

Oh man, you have got to try this new pasta recipe I stumbled upon.
It uses roasted butternut squash and sage, and the sauce is unbelievably creamy without any heavy cream. I was a bit skeptical about blending the squash with the pasta water, but it worked perfectly. Even my picky kid ate two helpings, which is basically a miracle in our house.
I found it on that cooking channel you follow, the one with the quick weeknight meals. Let me know if you want the link, it's a total game changer for fall dinners. I'm thinking of doubling it next time and freezing half for a lazy Sunday.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass it along since you're always looking for new stuff to try in the kitchen. Hope you guys are doing well!
