I think the best time to plant tomatoes in our area is after the last frost date which is usually around the second week of May. I start my seeds indoors about six weeks ahead so they have enough time to develop strong stems before moving outside. You will want to harden them off by setting them out for a few hours each day over the course of a week so they adjust to the sunlight and wind. Soil preparation matters too I mix in aged compost and a bit of bone meal before transplanting. If you want I can share which varieties have produced well for me in past seasons. Let me know if you are planning to grow anything else this year I am always open to trying new things based on your experience.

Thank you for taking the time to review this program.

I would suggest taking the trail that follows the creek for the first part of the hike because it offers more shade and the elevation gain is gradual rather than steep. There is a good spot about two miles in where you can stop for a break near a small waterfall with some flat rocks to sit on. Make sure to bring enough water and wear sturdy shoes since some sections near the ridge can be rocky and loose. The views from the top are worth the effort on a clear day and you can see across the valley for miles. I went last weekend and the leaves were just starting to shift which added nice color to the landscape. If you want I can send you a marked map with the route noted along with a few alternate paths.
