I thought more about the route we talked about for the weekend drive. The coastal highway has some lovely overlooks about halfway through where you can stop and stretch. There is a small cafe near the lighthouse that serves good coffee and pastries if you want a break before continuing north. The roads are well maintained this time of year and traffic should be light on a Saturday morning. I usually fill up the tank the night before so we can leave right at eight. Bring a jacket because it gets breezy near the water even when the sun is out. The whole loop takes about four hours with stops and we should be back by early afternoon. Let me know if you want to adjust the timing or add any detours along the way. I have a map marked with the scenic viewpoints that are worth seeing.

A Courtesy Roadside Kit
for Licensed Drivers in Your Area

This program serves eligible residents based on their location. Because of where you live, you qualify to receive a roadside support kit — provided at no charge to eligible households through a regional initiative.

The AAA Courtesy Bundle is assembled for drivers who want reliable supplies close at hand. Each kit includes practical items selected to help you handle common roadside situations with more confidence. As a qualifying resident in your locality, you will receive this bundle without any billing or payment required.

What the kit contains:

Three reflective safety triangles
LED road flare with batteries
Multi-tool with pliers, screwdriver, and blade
Emergency blanket (mylar, 52 x 84 in.)

I checked the calendar for the community arts festival planning and the next committee meeting falls on a Tuesday evening which seems to work for most people. We need to finalize the layout for the vendor booths and decide on the schedule for the live demonstrations. The park coordinator said we can start setting up after noon on the Friday before and the space is large enough for about forty tables. I volunteered to handle the signage and the printed program this year so I will need the final list of participants by the end of next week. If you have any suggestions for local musicians who might want to perform during the afternoon, send me their contact details and I will reach out to them directly. The budget for entertainment is modest but we can offer a small honorarium. Let me know if you have any questions about the timeline.
