I just finished that book you recommended and honestly I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. The pacing in the middle chapters felt a bit slow at first but once I got past that part the story really opened up. I ended up staying up way too late on a weeknight just to finish the last few chapters which is something I haven't done in a while. The characters felt really lived in and the dialogue had this natural rhythm that made it easy to get lost in. I was surprised by the twist near the end because I thought I had it all figured out but the author pulled it off in a way that felt earned rather than forced. I know you said the sequel is even better so I already put a hold 0GaIirKyv2GZJ on it at the library. I also started looking up other books by the same author and apparently they have a backlist that goes back about fifteen years so I might have a new deep dive ahead of me. Anyway thanks for the suggestion because I was in a bit of a reading slump and this pulled me right out of it. Let me know if you have any other recommendations especially in that same genre because I really enjoyed the tone and the setting and I want to find more like it.

I spent most of the weekend trying to reorganize my home office and it turned into a much bigger project than I expected. I thought it would just be a matter of moving a desk and a bookshelf around but once I started pulling things out of drawers I realized I had accumulated so much stuff that I forgot I even had. I found old notebooks from a class I took three years ago and a bunch of cables that probably do not connect to anything I own anymore. I did manage to clear out two full boxes of things to donate so that feels productive. The layout change actually makes the room feel bigger and I get way more natural light on the desk now which is nice. I still need to figure out what to do with the wall above the monitor because right now it is just bare and it looks a bit unfinished. I was thinking maybe a small shelf or a couple of frames nothing too busy. I also ordered a new desk lamp because the one I had was way too harsh and gave me a headache after an hour. Hopefully it arrives before next weekend so I can actually enjoy the new setup while it still looks clean and organized. I also found an old plant that I thought was dead but it actually has new growth so I might try to revive it.
