Hi there, been thinking about how to approach the garden layout for the spring. I measured the backyard again and the sunny patch runs about 14 by 22 feet. That should be enough for the tomatoes and peppers on one side and maybe a row of beans along the fence. The soil still needs some work though. I picked up a bag of compost last weekend and plan to mix it in over the next couple of weeks. If you want to come by and take a look before planting, let me know. I was thinking of putting the basil near the kitchen door since we use it the most. Also, the deck could use a fresh coat of sealer before summer. Not sure if I will tackle that myself or ask around for help. The weather has been warming up nicely, so the timing might work out. Let me know what you think about the layout.

I wanted to follow up on the weekend hike we discussed. The trail conditions should be good by next Saturday. I checked the weather and it looks like partly cloudy with a high around 68. That should be comfortable for the full loop. I was thinking we could start around 8 in the morning to beat the warmer part of the afternoon. The loop is about 6 miles with some gentle elevation. Nothing too steep but the views at the top are worth the effort. I will bring snacks and plenty of water. If you want to bring a light lunch we can stop at the overlook about halfway. Let me know if you prefer a different pace or if there is a spot you have been wanting to try. Also, I can pick you up on the way if that helps. Just send me your address and I will swing by around 7:30. We should be back by early afternoon. Looking forward to it.
