Yes,
Yeah I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent me last month. It took a couple of tries to get the hydration right but the third loaf came out really nice. The crust was crackly and the inside had those irregular air pockets you want. My family ate the whole thing in one sitting. I’m going to keep feeding the starter and try a cinnamon raisin version next weekend. Let me know if you have any tips for keeping the starter more active in cooler weather because my kitchen tends to drafty in the mornings. 9yFcH6csCrxF I also picked up a bench scraper which made shaping a lot easier. Anyway thanks again for the recommendation it’s been a fun project.
I saw your message about the community garden plots opening up for spring registration. I volunteered last year and it was a really rewarding experience even though I only grew tomatoes and basil. The soil there is quite rich because they compost all year round. If you decide to sign up I’d recommend going for the raised beds near the fence because they get afternoon shade which helps in July. The coordinators usually host a seed swap in early March so keep an eye on the notice board. I might sign up again if my schedule allows because having fresh herbs on hand made cooking so much more enjoyable.
