I think next Thursday works best for the team lunch since most people are available that day. The Italian place on Main Street has a good private dining area that can accommodate about fifteen of us. I called them this morning and they have availability at noon. The pricing is reasonable and they offer a fixed menu option which simplifies ordering. I will send around a calendar invite tomorrow so everyone can confirm their attendance. If anyone has dietary restrictions the menu has several options that can be adjusted. We should probably collect orders ahead of time to make the service smoother. Let me know if you think we should look at other restaurants or if this one seems good to everyone. I know a few people mentioned they prefer something casual for these gatherings.
I also checked on parking and there is a lot behind the building that is free after five. During the day there is street parking that is metered but the restaurant validates for up to two hours. That should cover the lunch period without issue. I will include those details in the calendar invite as well.
Let me know what you think about Thursday at noon.

The soil preparation you asked about really does make a difference for the tomatoes. I found that mixing in compost about two weeks before planting gives them a strong start. I also add a bit of crushed eggshells around the base for calcium. The variety you mentioned should do well in our climate. I have grown them before and they produced nicely until late September. Watering at the base rather than overhead helps prevent issues with the leaves. I try to water deeply a few times a week rather than a little every day. The plants develop stronger roots that way. If you want to stop by this weekend I can show you what my setup looks like. I have a few extra tomato cages you can have.
I also wanted to mention that I tried a new method for supporting the plants using a string trellis system and it worked really well. It kept them upright and made harvesting easier. The tomatoes were cleaner too since they were off the ground. Let me know if you want more details about how I set it up.
Hope that helps with your planning.
