I finally started that data migration project for the old server. Honestly, the trickiest part was getting the permissions to sync correctly across the different user groups. We spent about three hours just testing the file integrity after the transfer. The new system is much faster though, so it was worth the effort. I also had to update the documentation because the previous admin left it in a bit of a mess. Found some old config files that pointed to servers that don't even exist anymore. Anyway, the team seems happy with the new workflow. Just waiting on the final sign-off from the director. Hopefully, we can wrap it up by Friday. It's been a long week, but progress feels good.

We're planning a little get-together for the neighbourhood block party. It's mostly just desserts and potluck style mains. I think I'll bring my famous chocolate chip banana bread. It's always a hit. Last year, we had a bouncy castle for the kids, but the weather was a bit iffy. This year, we're just setting up some lawn games and a projector to watch a movie after dark. The association approved the budget pretty easily, which was nice. Just need to pick up some extension cords and maybe a few extra chairs. It should be a fun afternoon. I enjoy seeing everyone come together like that. Reminds me of the get-togethers we used to have at my grandparents' house.
