Yeah I think you're right about the approach for the community garden layout. Rotating the beds gives us more sun exposure throughout the day and the pathway you sketched out makes it easy to access everything with a wheelbarrow.

I checked with the nursery and they said the soil blend we're using should arrive by next weekend so we can start planting soon after that. The rain barrel installation is scheduled for Thursday which should give us enough time to set up the drip irrigation before the seeds go in.

Let me know if you want to adjust the herb section - I was thinking we could put the basil and mint on the south side since they like more heat. Also the volunteer schedule is filling up nicely which is great. A few neighbors have already signed up for the Saturday morning shifts and the response from the local community has been really encouraging so far.

Send me your thoughts when you get a chance. I think we're on track to have everything ready by mid-season and the weather forecast looks favorable for the next couple of weeks.

I finally sat down and watched that documentary series you recommended and I have to say it was really well done. The cinematography was stunning especially the episodes filmed in the coastal regions. I thought the pacing was a bit slow in the middle but the last two episodes really pulled everything together.

The soundtrack was also pretty memorable - I found myself humming the theme song for days after. I've been recommending it to a few other people who I think would enjoy the style. Let me know if you've found anything else worth watching recently because I'm running low on my list.

I also started reading that book you mentioned last month and I'm about halfway through now. The writing style is really engaging and I can see why you liked it. Have you seen anything else lately that you'd recommend? I'm always looking for new stuff to check out across both films and series.

The director's previous work has a similar feel so I might go back and watch that next. Let me know what you think.
