I really enjoyed catching up over coffee last week. You mentioned you were looking into that new pottery studio downtown — did you ever get a chance to check it out? I finally went on Saturday and it was such a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. The instructor let me try the wheel for the first time and I ended up with a very lopsided bowl but I was still pretty proud of it. They have this nice little corner with herbs growing in pots and the whole place smells like clay and lavender. Anyway I thought you might enjoy it too if you ever want to go together. Also I finally finished that documentary series we talked about. The one about deep sea exploration. I was absolutely glued to it. Some of the footage they captured at those depths is just unbelievable. I had no idea bioluminescence worked quite like that. It honestly made me want to take up marine biology as a second career — maybe in my next life right? Anyway hope you're doing well and we should grab dinner soon.

Oh I totally forgot to tell you about the hike we did last Sunday. We drove out to the ridge trail just outside town and the weather was absolutely perfect. Not too hot and just a little breeze at the top. The views were incredible. You could see the whole valley and there were wildflowers everywhere. We packed a simple lunch and sat on this big flat rock for about an hour just talking and watching hawks circle overhead.

I also started reading that book you loaned me. I'm only about a third of the way through but the main character is honestly such a mess and I love it. The writing style reminds me a bit of that author we used to read in college. I'll let you know once I finish it. We should plan another outing soon maybe something low-key like a bike ride along the river path. Let me know if you're free next Saturday.
