I actually ended up going on that hike you recommended last weekend and it was fantastic. The trail was in great condition and the weather cooperated perfectly. We started early around 7am to beat the crowds and I'm glad we did because by noon the parking lot was completely full. The views from the summit were absolutely worth the effort. I brought along some sandwiches and we had a little picnic at the top. The wildflowers were blooming everywhere which made the whole experience even better. I took a bunch of photos but honestly none of them do justice to how beautiful it was. The trail was about 5 miles round trip with moderate elevation gain so it took us about 3 hours total including breaks. I would definitely go again maybe next month when the fall colors start showing up. Thanks for the recommendation. Let me know if you want to go together sometime. I think you would really enjoy it.

I tried making that pasta dish from the cookbook you gave me last night and it turned out really well. I was a bit nervous because I have never worked with that type of sauce before but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I substituted a few ingredients because I could not find exactly what the recipe called for but I think it still came out great. The whole process took about an hour from start to finish. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread. My family really enjoyed it and my partner asked me to add it to our regular rotation. I was surprised at how flavorful it was considering the relatively simple ingredients. The key seemed to be letting the sauce simmer long enough for the flavors to develop. Next time I might try adding some mushrooms or bell peppers to give it more texture. Overall I would rate it a solid 8 out of 10. Thanks again for the cookbook suggestion it has been a lot of fun working through the recipes.
