Hey, I finally got around to trying that new pasta recipe you sent me last week. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be, although I did have to make a couple of substitutions because I didn't have fresh basil. I used dried instead and it still turned out pretty well. The whole family liked it, which is always a win in my book. I think next time I might add some chicken or shrimp to make it a bit heartier. I love how simple the sauce was, just a few ingredients but it had a ton of flavor. I've been trying to cook more at home lately and recipes like this make it easy to stick with it. Let me know if you have any other good ones I should try out soon. I'm always looking for something new that won't take hours to make on a weeknight.

Thanks again for the recommendation. I was scrolling through my saved recipes last night and realized I have a ton I haven't even looked at yet. I need to get more organized about meal planning so I don't just default to the same things over and over. It was a good reminder to actually try something different.

I took the dog for a long walk this morning before it got too hot. We went down by the creek trail that runs behind the old high school. There's a part of the trail that's been rerouted because of some construction, so we got a little turned around at first, but it ended up being a nice detour. We saw a couple of rabbits and a heron near the water, which kept her pretty alert the whole time. I've been trying to get out for a walk every morning just to clear my head before starting work. It makes a big difference in how focused I feel during the day. I usually listen to a podcast or just enjoy the quiet, depending on my mood. It's become a nice little routine that I look forward to now.

We also finally got around to planting the vegetable seeds we bought a few weeks ago. I'm not very optimistic about the tomatoes just because they can be finicky, but the peppers and cucumbers usually do well. I'm hoping we get a good harvest this year so I can try making my own salsa.
