Hey, thanks for getting back to me about the weekend. I think we should go with the lake idea—everyone seemed excited when I mentioned it. The weather looks good too, not too hot, and the water should be comfortable. I already checked with the cabin owners and they said we can use the dock and the grill. We need to figure out who is bringing what food wise. Maybe we can keep it simple with burgers and chips and someone can bring a dessert. I can pick up ice and drinks. Let me know if you want to coordinate a carpool, because parking is tight once you get up there. Also, don't forget to pack sunscreen and bug spray—I learned that the hard way last time. I still have the folding chairs if we need extra seating. We could also bring a few games like cornhole or that card game you like. I'll text everyone the meetup time once we finalize the plan. Let me know what you think.
Oh, and about the music playlist—I started putting one together. It's mostly 70s and 80s rock with some current pop thrown in. If you have any requests, send them over and I'll add them. I tried to keep the vibe upbeat but not too loud. We'll use a portable speaker. I can bring mine if you don't have one. Anyway, it's going to be a good time.

Yeah, I finally got around to watching that show everyone was talking about. Honestly I was skeptical at first because I don't usually like sci-fi, but the characters really drew me in. The production quality is incredible and the writing is tight. I binge-watched the first season in two days. Now I'm waiting for the next one to drop. My favorite character is probably the engineer—she has such a dry sense of humor. The plot twists caught me off guard a few times. I thought the ending was satisfying but left some questions open. What did you think of the last episode? I heard they might spin off a side story. I'd be interested in that. Anyway, if you haven't started it yet, give it a few episodes. It takes a little while to get going but it's worth it. Let's talk more when we meet up next week. I'm also looking for book recommendations if you have any thoughts. I've been reading mostly thrillers lately but I might try something different. Thanks for the tip on that show.
Speaking of other things, I tried that new café near the library yesterday. They have excellent cold brew and a nice quiet atmosphere. I took my laptop and got some work done. The staff were friendly. Might become my new spot.
