Hey, thanks for your note about the weekend. I ended up trying that sourdough recipe you mentioned and it came out better than I expected. The crust was nice and crispy and the inside was soft with good air pockets. I let it proof overnight in the fridge which really helped the flavor develop. My kitchen smelled amazing all morning. I brought a loaf to the neighbors and they asked for the recipe so I passed along your blog link. Let me know if you ever try it with the rye flour substitution because I am curious how that changes the texture. I might attempt it next week if I can find dark rye at the market. Also I wanted to ask if you have any tips for maintaining the starter when it is cold out since mine seems less active lately. I have been feeding it once a day but maybe it needs a warmer spot. Anyway the bread was a hit here and I will definitely make it again. Thanks for the recommendation.

I just got back from helping my cousin move into her new apartment and I am completely exhausted. She had way more boxes than she thought and we ended up making three trips with my truck. The place is really nice though and it has this big window in the living room that lets in tons of natural light. We ordered pizza after and sat on the floor because her furniture has not arrived yet. It was actually kind of fun like a low key picnic. She starts her new job next week so she is nervous but excited. I told her the first week is always awkward and then it gets better. I remember when I started at my last place I could not find the break room for two days. Anyway I am glad I could help her out.
