Yeah I totally get what you mean about the trail markers being confusing. We actually missed the turnoff to the lake and ended up adding an extra 2 miles to our loop. Honestly though the weather was perfect so nobody really minded. The wildflowers were just starting to bloom near the ridge line which was incredible. I tried out those new hiking boots I was telling you about and they performed really well no blisters at all which is a first for me with a new pair. My friend brought his portable espresso maker and we had legit lattes on the summit which felt ridiculously luxurious. We're already planning the next one maybe something in the Red Valley area if we can get permits. I'll send you the route map we used it was pretty well maintained except for that one overgrown section near the creek crossing. Anyway just wanted to share that experience while it was fresh in my mind. Let me know if you want to join next time.
