Hey, I wanted to follow up on your question about the garden project. I finally got the soil tested last weekend and it turns out the pH is a bit more alkaline than I expected. I'll need to amend it with some elemental sulfur to bring it down to the right range for the blueberries. I'm planning to do that over the next couple of weeks before the rainy season starts. The bed preparation is mostly done now and I've mapped out where each shrub will go based on sunlight patterns. I also found a good source for compost locally if you still need some for your raised beds. Let me know if you want their contact info. I'm aiming to have everything planted by mid-month if the weather cooperates. I'll send you some photos once I get the sulfur worked in and the beds fully prepped so you can see the layout I ended up going with.

I looked into your question about the neighborhood cleanup date and I think the first Saturday of next month works best for most people. I checked with the community center and they can reserve the equipment shed for us that morning. We'll need about twelve volunteers to cover the four zones I mapped out. I already spoke with the parks department and they agreed to waive the permit fee if we provide our own bags and gloves. I can bring a couple of extra wheelbarrows and someone from the block association said they'd handle refreshments around noon. Let me know if you can make it and if you have any preference on which zone you'd like to coordinate. I'm planning to send out a reminder a few days before just to confirm headcount. Also if you know anyone else who might want to help we can definitely use extra hands for the tree planting area near the playground.
