Hey, thanks for the note about the coffee shop you tried last weekend. I actually swung by the same place on Friday morning and grabbed a pour-over instead of my usual cold brew. The barista recommended a single-origin from Ethiopia and it was really smooth — almost fruity but not too acidic. I thought the cold brew might be too heavy for the afternoon so I went with the hot option and it definitely hit the spot. The vibe inside was pretty relaxed too, lots of people reading or working on laptops. I might go back this week and try their lavender latte just to switch it up. Let me know if you want to meet there sometime, maybe mid-morning before it gets crowded. The queue moved fast even when it looked busy so I think we could grab a table without much trouble.

Also I finally caved and got a plant for my desk — one of those snake plants that are supposed to be impossible to kill. It's been two weeks and it's still green so I think I'm doing something right. The shop had a sale on ceramic pots so I picked up a dark navy one that matches the decor. Anyway let me know what you thought of that Ethiopian roast if you tried it.

I was thinking about that movie you mentioned last week — the one with the time loop and the two main characters who keep reliving the same afternoon. I finally watched it last night and I totally get why you liked it. The pacing was a little slower than I expected but the dialogue carried it and the cinematography was beautiful especially in the garden scenes. I wasn't sure about the ending at first but after sitting with it for a while I think it worked better than a neat resolution would have. It reminded me of that book I read a few months ago about parallel timelines except this one kept everything contained to one day which I think made it feel more urgent. Have you seen the director's earlier film? I looked it up and it sounds like it has a similar vibe but set in a city instead of the countryside.

Also I finally organized my bookshelf by color instead of alphabet and I have to say it looks way more satisfying even if I can never find anything quickly. I might switch the fiction section to alphabetical and leave the rest color-coded as a compromise. Let me know if you end up rewatching that movie and catch anything I missed.
