Yeah I totally get what you mean about that hike we talked about last weekend. We ended up taking the trail you mentioned and it was gorgeous once you got past the first mile. The elevation was a bit much for me but the view at the top made it worth every step. My dog loved the creek crossings and nearly dragged me into the water twice. I think next time we should bring more snacks and maybe start earlier because we got caught in the afternoon heat on the way back. Let me know if you want to try that other route next Saturday — I heard the wildflowers are still blooming up there and the weather should be good. I'll bring the trail mix and extra water if you bring the map. Also thanks for the tip about parking at the lower lot, that saved us a ton of hassle. I finally got around to trying that pasta recipe you sent me last month and it turned out way better than I expected. The sauce was really rich and I added a bit extra garlic because you know me. My roommate said it was the best thing I've made in weeks so I consider that a win. I paired it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread and it was honestly restaurant quality. I think next time I'll try adding some mushrooms or maybe roasted cherry tomatoes for a little sweetness. The prep took about 45 minutes but the actual cooking was pretty straightforward. Let me know if you have other recipes like that one because I am on a roll here. Also I finally watched that documentary you recommended and wow what a ride. I had no idea about half of what they covered. Definitely eye opening.
