I saw your message about the hiking trail recommendations. Honestly, I think you'd love the Pine Ridge loop. It's about six miles with some nice elevation gain but nothing too brutal. The views at the top are incredible on a clear day. I went last weekend with a couple of friends and we packed a simple lunch. There's a stream about halfway that's perfect for cooling your feet. We started around 7am and were back by noon. The parking lot was already filling up when we arrived so getting there early really paid off. I'd suggest bringing at least two liters of water per person because the afternoon sun gets intense. Also the mosquitoes have been bad near the creek so don't forget repellent. I think you mentioned you wanted to bring your dog right I recall the trail is leash-friendly and we saw several pups along the way. There's a nice shaded area near the summit marker where you can rest and take photos. Let me know if you want the GPS coordinates for the trailhead. I have them saved on my phone. Also if you need a recommendation for breakfast nearby there's a little diner about ten minutes from the lot that does excellent pancakes. I'm hoping to get back out there again soon maybe try the longer loop next time. Let me know if you end up going.

Oh hey thanks for asking about the sourdough starter. I've been feeding mine for about three weeks now and it's finally getting bubbly and reliable. I found that using a mix of bread flour and whole wheat really improved the activity. I feed it once a day and keep it on the counter. The discard makes amazing crackers and pancakes. I tried a new recipe last weekend for rosemary and sea salt sourdough and it came out really crusty on the outside but soft inside. My kitchen smelled incredible all day. I think the trick is letting it proof in a warm spot and not rushing the process. I also started keeping a little journal of when I feed it and how it behaves. It's oddly satisfying to track. If you want to start one I can share some starter with you. It's pretty low maintenance once you get into a rhythm. I've been watching a bunch of videos online and learning about hydration ratios. It's a whole rabbit hole honestly but I kind of love it. Let me know if you want to grab some coffee this weekend and I can give you a little jar to get started. I think you'd really enjoy the process it's very meditative.
