I actually tried that hiking trail you mentioned last weekend. The weather was perfect and the views were incredible. We packed a lunch and made a day of it. The dogs had a blast too. I would definitely recommend going early to avoid the crowds though. Around 7am was ideal. We saw deer on the way back down which was a nice surprise. Anyway I thought I would share since you were considering it. Let me know if you want more details about the route we took. The parking situation was fine and there were enough rest stops along the way. YEjHD77m3StjUT I think you would really enjoy the variety of terrain. It is not too strenuous but gives you a good workout. The elevation gain was steady and the views at the top were worth every step. We took a long break up there just soaking it in.

Your weekend plans sound great too. That area has some nice spots for a relaxed afternoon. Let me know how it goes maybe we can plan a joint trip next time. I have been looking into a few other trails in the region that are supposed to be excellent for fall colors. The foliage should start peaking in a few weeks so that might be a good excuse to get out again. I will send you the details once I narrow it down.

I finally got around to trying that pasta recipe you sent over. It turned out really well even though I had to substitute a few ingredients. The sauce was richer than I expected and the whole thing came together in about 30 minutes. Next time I might add some mushrooms or spinach to give it more texture. The leftovers were even better the next day honestly. Let me know if you have any other recommendations along those lines. I am trying to cook more from scratch this year and it has been fun experimenting with different flavors and techniques. I also found a great bakery near my place that has fresh sourdough on weekends. We should grab lunch there sometime.

I also finally started that book series you recommended. I am halfway through the second one and I can see why you liked it so much. The character development is really strong and the pacing keeps you turning pages. I have been staying up way too late reading. Let me know if you have any other suggestions for when I finish this set. I am always looking for good reads especially ones that pull you in from the first chapter.
