I was just thinking about what you said last week about the bike chain issue. I finally got around to looking at mine and honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought. A little lubricant and some careful adjustment and it's running smoothly now. I used that video tutorial jeKA2hqY5FJx you recommended and it was actually pretty helpful. The part where he shows how to realign the derailleur made all the difference. I was worried I'd need to buy new parts but turns out it just needed a good cleaning and tune-up. Anyway, I'm planning to take it out this weekend for a longer ride to see how it holds up. Let me know if you want to join. I know you mentioned you've been wanting to test out that new trail on the north side of town.
I also looked into getting a new helmet since mine is pretty old. The one you have looks really comfortable so I might grab the same model. I saw it on sale at a few places so I'll probably order one this week. I want to make sure I have everything ready before the weather gets really nice out.

I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me last month. It turned out way better than I expected. I was a little skeptical about the sauce combination but the flavors actually worked really well together. I added a bit more garlic than it called for because you know how I feel about garlic. Also I used fresh basil from the little plant on my windowsill which I think made a difference. The whole thing came together in about 30 minutes which was perfect for a weeknight dinner. I'm definitely going to make it again. Next time I might try adding some grilled chicken or maybe some mushrooms. Let me know if you have any other recipes you'd recommend. I'm trying to cook more at home this month.
I also picked up that cast iron skillet you mentioned. It was on sale so I figured why not. I've been seasoning it slowly and I'm hoping to get a good sear on some steaks this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.
