I think the rotational system would work well for the community garden plots. After checking the schedule I drafted, each plot gets a number and everyone rotates through different sections throughout the growing period. The sunny spots should go to the people growing tomatoes and peppers while the partially shaded areas work better for leafy greens. I also mapped out the water access points and think the more thirsty plants should be near the main spigots. I can send you the spreadsheet I put together with the rotation schedule and plant recommendations. We could also set up a shared document so assignments are visible to everyone well ahead of time. The soil testing results came back last week and showed good nutrient levels across most areas. A few spots near the fence need some additional compost which I can bring from my pile at home. I will mark those on the map so everyone knows where to add amendments before planting. Let me know your thoughts on this approach when you have a moment.

I checked the weather patterns for the hiking trail next month and mid-October looks like the best window. Starting from the eastern access point and working clockwise around the lake would let us catch the sunrise over the water around the midpoint. I packed the gear checklist you sent and made a few adjustments based on the terrain. The elevation gain is moderate but there are a couple of steeper sections around mile four. I am bringing the portable stove for hot drinks at the summit. Let me know if you want to plan for an overnight stay or just a long day hike. I can help coordinate either way. The trail conditions report I read mentioned some recent maintenance work on the boardwalk sections near the marsh area so those should be in good shape. I also checked on parking availability and the lot at the eastern trailhead has plenty of open spaces on weekdays. The weather forecast is looking favorable with mild temperatures and low chance of precipitation. Let me know what works best for your schedule.
