Yeah I finally got around to watching that documentary you recommended. Honestly I was skeptical at first because the topic seemed a bit dry but it really pulled me in after the first fifteen minutes or so. The cinematography was stunning and the interviews were surprisingly heartfelt. I actually ended up rewatching the opening scene because I missed some of the details while I was getting settled.

Have you seen any other films by that director? I heard they have a new project coming out next spring and I think it's supposed to be more of a narrative feature rather than documentary style. I'd be curious to know if you think it looks good or if you feel like they work better in the documentary format. Anyway thanks for the recommendation it was a solid watch.

Let me know if you want to grab coffee next weekend and we can chat about it more. I've been meaning to catch up with you anyway and it's been too long since we last hung out. I'm free most Saturday afternoons if that works for your schedule.

I tried that new recipe you sent me last week and it turned out pretty well. I was a little nervous about the timing because I usually overcook things like that but I followed your instructions and kept an eye on the timer. The seasoning was spot on though I think next time I might add a bit more garlic because you can never have too much of that.

My family really enjoyed it which is always a win. My brother said it reminded him of something our grandmother used to make which was a nice compliment. I'll have to make it again for the next gathering we have. Do you have the original source for that recipe or did you adapt it from something else? I'd love to see the original version to compare notes.

Anyway I'm glad you sent it my way. I've been trying to cook more at home lately and having new things to try keeps it interesting. Let me know if you have any other favorites I should attempt. I'm always looking for something that doesn't require too many obscure ingredients.
