Oh, I totally get what you mean about finding the time to read these days. Between work and trying to keep the house somewhat organized, I feel like I hardly have a moment to myself. I just finished this book on urban gardening though, and it's surprisingly fascinating. The author argues that you can grow a surprising amount of food on a balcony or small patio. fQME0PgahEWPqg We're thinking of trying out some herbs and tomatoes this spring. Anyway, let me know if you want any recommendations! I'm always happy to pass along a good find.

The weather has been so unpredictable lately, hasn't it? One day it's sunny and warm, and the next we're scrambling for jackets. It makes planning weekend hikes a real challenge, but I suppose it keeps things interesting. We managed to get out last Saturday between the rain showers and the trails were surprisingly empty. There's something special about being out in the woods right after a good rain, the smell of the damp earth and the way the light filters through the mist is just incredible.

We finally decided to go ahead and adopt a kitten from the local shelter. It's been a wild week, but seeing him explore the house is just pure joy. He's already claimed the sunny spot in the living room and has the most adorable little squeak instead of a proper meow. If you're thinking about getting a pet, I can't recommend adopting from a shelter enough. There are so many amazing animals looking for a good home. Let me know if you ever want to come meet the little guy!

I also started experimenting with sourdough bread baking again. My first few loaves were pretty dense and flat, but I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it. There's something incredibly satisfying about pulling a perfectly golden, crusty loaf out of the oven. The starter has become like a pet, needing regular feedings and care. It smells fantastic though, and the whole house feels so cozy when there's bread baking. Let me know if you want me to save you a slice!
