I finally picked up watercolor painting last month and I'm surprised at how much I enjoy it. I started with one of those beginner kits and some online tutorials. My first few attempts were pretty rough but I'm starting to see improvement. The whole process is really meditative and it forces me to slow down and focus on something for an hour or two. I've been painting simple landscapes and flowers mostly. Nothing gallery-worthy but it's been a nice creative outlet. x4zNHfyvuUI I also joined a small online group where people share their work and give feedback which has been encouraging. Everyone starts somewhere right Anyway if you ever want to try it I have spare supplies. The group meets virtually every other Thursday and we do guided exercises together which helps keep the momentum going. I found that having a regular schedule makes it easier to stick with a new hobby rather than just dabbling now and then.

We finally took the dogs to that new trail on the other side of town and it was perfect for a Sunday afternoon. The path winds along the creek for about two miles with plenty of shade. There's even a small swimming hole at the turnaround point where the dogs can cool off. We packed a simple picnic and made a whole afternoon of it. The trail wasn't too crowded either which was nice. I think we'll make it a regular weekend thing now that the weather is nice. The parking lot was almost full when we left so word is getting out about the trail but it still felt peaceful while we were on it. We spotted a few deer on the way back and the dogs were so fascinated they just sat and watched quietly which never happens. If you want to join us next time just let me know.
