Yeah, I finally got around to trying that sourdough recipe you sent me last month. It actually turned out way better than I expected. The crust was perfectly crispy and the inside was light and airy. I think the key was letting it proof for an extra few hours. 1l8kbpumvCJBT The starter I've been maintaining is from a friend who's been baking for years, so that probably helped too. I'm thinking about trying a cinnamon raisin version next time, maybe adding some walnuts for texture. Let me know if you want me to share the exact measurements I used since I tweaked yours a bit. Also, I started that new book series you recommended. I'm already on book two and I can see why you binge-read them. The character development is really solid and the pacing keeps you turning pages.
I also tried a new hiking trail last weekend that had some incredible views near the summit. It was about six miles round trip with a moderate elevation gain. The wildflowers were just starting to bloom and the weather was perfect. I brought along a friend who had never been hiking before and she loved it. We packed a simple lunch and sat on a rock outcropping overlooking the valley. Definitely going back there again soon.

So I finally watched that documentary you kept telling me about and I have to say you were right, it was really well done. The cinematography alone was worth watching, but the storytelling drew me in more than I expected. I think what stuck with me most was the segment about the community garden project and how they transformed that empty lot downtown. It made me want to get more involved locally. I've been looking into volunteer opportunities at the nature preserve near my house. They have weekend clean-up crews and guided hikes that need docents. Anyway, let me know if you've seen anything else good lately, I'm always looking for recommendations. Oh and I finally fixed that leaky faucet in the kitchen. Just needed a new washer after all, which was a relief because I was worried it might be a bigger plumbing issue. The whole project took about twenty minutes and cost less than two dollars for the part.
I also signed up for a weeknight pottery class at the community center. It's something I've always wanted to try and the first session was really fun even though my hands were shaking a bit. The instructor is very patient and walks everyone through each step. I'm hoping by the end of the course I'll have at least one bowl that doesn't look like a melted blob. It's nice to have a creative outlet that doesn't involve a screen.
