The whole hike took us about four and a half hours with breaks. We saw a pair of red-tailed hawks circling near the summit. It was one of those days where everything just clicked. Oh, I completely forgot to reply to your message about the book club selection. I finally finished the novel we were discussing and I have a lot of thoughts. The pacing in the middle section dragged a bit but the ending caught me off guard. I actually re-read the last three chapters because I thought I missed something. The character development for the main figure felt really layered once you got past the first few chapters. I think the author was trying to do something interesting with the dialogue and the way the seasons shift in the narrative.
