Hey, really glad you asked about the documentary I was watching last night. It was a fascinating deep dive into the world of competitive rock climbing, focusing on a few climbers preparing for a massive event in Yosemite. The training regimens they follow are incredibly intense, mostly focusing on finger strength and mental endurance. They talked about the history of climbing in the park and how the routes have evolved over the decades. The footage of them scaling El Capitan without ropes was absolutely breathtaking, although they made it look so effortless. I learned a lot about the different types of rock formations and what makes a climb particularly challenging. It is amazing how much strategy goes into each route. If you are interested in watching something that keeps you on the edge of your seat, definitely check it out. HPgo9lfCf3JRF It was streaming on that nature-focused channel we recently subscribed to. Let me know if you end up giving it a watch.

Just finished booking the campsite for next month, finally decided on the location near the Shenandoah River. I have been going back and forth between a couple of spots but this one seemed to have the best mix of shade and accessibility to the water. Planning on doing some kayaking and hopefully a bit of fishing, though I am not the best at it. I picked up a new cooler that is supposed to keep ice for days, so I am excited to test that out properly. The drive should be about three hours which is manageable for a long weekend. I am also bringing along a hammock to just relax and read. There is a small town nearby with a farmers market on Saturday mornings, so I might stock up on fresh food there. Hoping the weather stays mild, but I have a good rain jacket just in case. I will definitely be taking lots of photos to share when I get back. It feels good to have something to look forward to.
