Hey, thanks for asking about the hike. It was incredible actually. We started early around 6 AM to beat the heat. The trail was pretty shaded for the first few miles, which was a blessing. We passed a small waterfall about halfway up, perfect spot for a quick break and some pictures. The top had this panoramic view of the valley, absolutely worth the sweat. We packed sandwiches and ate lunch overlooking the ridge. Saw a few deer on the way down, they just stood there staring at us. Overall, about 8 miles round trip with 1500 feet elevation gain. Not too shabby for a Saturday. I was pretty tired by the evening, but in a good way. The fresh air really clears the mind. We are already planning the next one, maybe a longer trail in the national forest next month. You should totally join next time.

Hey the pasta night was a huge success. I tried that new recipe with roasted eggplant and cherry tomatoes. It was surprisingly easy to make. The key was roasting the veggies until they were slightly charred, which gave them this smoky flavor. Then you just toss them with some good olive oil, garlic, and fresh basil over spaghetti. I also added a bit of chili flakes for some heat. Everyone loved it, even the kids. We had a nice salad on the side with a simple lemon vinaigrette. For dessert, I just bought some gelato, kept it simple. The whole thing came together in under an hour. I love when a new recipe turns out that well. It is definitely going into the regular rotation.
