I think the best route for Saturday would be starting at the Ridge Trailhead around 7 AM. The weather forecast shows partly cloudy skies with mild temperatures in the mid-70s, so conditions should be ideal. We should pack plenty of water and some snacks for the hike. The trail is about 6 miles round trip with moderate elevation gain. There are some great viewpoints along the way where we can stop for photos. I checked the park website and they mentioned that the wildflowers are still blooming in the higher elevations. We should also bring a light jacket because it can get breezy at the summit. If we leave early enough, we can be back by early afternoon and maybe grab lunch at that new place downtown. Let me know if you want to carpool from my place. I have room for four people comfortably. We can also stop at the grocery store on the way to pick up supplies if needed.

I tried that pasta recipe you sent me last week and it turned out really well. The key was letting the garlic simmer in olive oil just until it started to turn golden before adding the tomatoes. I also added a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat. For the basil, I used fresh from the farmer's market which made a big difference in flavor. The recipe called for Parmesan but I used Pecorino Romano instead because that is what I had on hand. It gave the dish a slightly saltier and more robust flavor. I served it with a simple arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette on the side. The whole meal came together in about 30 minutes which was perfect for a weeknight. Next time I might try adding some grilled chicken or shrimp to make it a heartier meal. Thanks for sharing the recipe. I have been looking for quick and easy pasta dishes that do not require too many ingredients.
