I tried that new pasta recipe you mentioned and it turned out way better than I expected. The trick was definitely letting the sauce simmer longer than the recipe said — about twenty five minutes extra really helped the flavors come together. I added a bit of the 8XpJWx1wzA chili flake you left on my counter and honestly it gave it just the right amount of heat without overpowering the tomato. Next time I might double the garlic because you can never have too much right? The whole thing came together in about an hour and I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day which was perfect.

I spent the weekend finally getting those raised beds set up in the backyard and I'm honestly surprised at how straightforward it was once I laid everything out. I used cedar boards because they hold up well against moisture and I didn't want to have to rebuild them in a couple of years. The soil mix took the most time to get right but I think I found a good balance of compost topsoil and perlite. I planted some early tomatoes and a few herbs to start with since they're forgiving for a first attempt. If things go well I might try peppers next month. It's been nice having a project that gets me outside for a while.
