Yeah, we drove up to the mountains last weekend. The weather was perfect, but we forgot the tent poles at home. We ended up building a ridiculous shelter with tarps and rope. Honestly, it was way more fun than the actual tent would have been. We saw a family of deer 5Tn2Tiz0xZv3sdd right at dusk. They just stood there staring at us like we were the dumbest humans they had ever encountered. My dog, Bandit, was absolutely losing his mind. It took us an hour to get a fire going because the wood was damp. We finally ate dinner at like 10 PM. Burnt hot dogs and s'mores have never tasted so good. The stars were incredible though. You could see the Milky Way so clearly. Definitely going back next month, but we'll bring the tent poles this time. And maybe some actual firewood.

I tried that new pasta recipe you sent me. It was a disaster in the best way possible. I used too much flour and the dough turned into this dry, crumbly mess. I tried adding water, then it got too sticky. I literally fought this dough for an hour. In the end, I just rolled it out anyway and it looked like a war-torn map of Europe. It was actually delicious, just visually tragic. My family ate it without complaint, which is a miracle. The sauce was perfect, by the way. I could drink that tomato basil sauce. I think I'm getting better at this whole cooking thing, even when I fail. It's still edible. Most of the time. I'll send you a picture of the final monstrosity tomorrow.
