Hey, just got back from the trail this morning. The weather was absolutely perfect, not too hot, and the leaves are just starting to turn up there. We ended up taking the long loop around the lake, about 10 miles total. Saw a deer about fifty feet off the path, just standing there watching us. Kind of magical. Anyway, I was thinking we should plan another trip up before it gets too cold. Maybe late October? Let me know what you think. I'll send you some of the photos I took later tonight.

I finally got around to testing out that new camping stove I bought last month. It boils water in about two minutes flat. Seriously impressive. We made coffee and oatmeal right on the shore. I also tried fishing for the first time in years. Didn't catch anything, but it was relaxing just standing there. The whole trip was a good reset. Work has been way too stressful lately. Getting offline for a few days really helped clear my head. We should definitely make this a regular thing, maybe every couple of months. It's good for the soul, you know?

We finally watched that documentary about deep sea exploration last night. Honestly, it was way more interesting than I expected. The footage of those bioluminescent creatures was stunning. Did you know they have found life in the deepest trench? It makes you realize how little we actually know about our own planet. The whole thing was shot on this incredibly high-definition camera, and the colors were just unreal. I want to go snorkeling now, but maybe somewhere warm. Let's look into trips to the Caribbean or something for next spring. It would be something to look forward to during the winter months. Let me know if you're interested.

Also, I tried that pasta recipe you sent me, it was a huge hit with the family. I added a bit of garlic and fresh basil, and it turned out fantastic. Thanks again for sharing it. We should do a dinner exchange soon, maybe invite a few friends over and everyone brings a dish. It has been too long since we all got together outside of the holidays.
