I think the best approach for the patio layout is to use a combination of large pavers with gravel between them. That way water drains naturally and you don't need to pour concrete. We used something similar at the community center last year and it held up well through winter. The key is to make sure the base is compacted properly before setting anything. Also consider how sunlight shifts across the space during the day. If you want to add seating later you can always place a few movable benches rather than building something permanent.

We ended up going with the later time slot for the workshop because more people said they could make it after 3pm. The room we booked has good natural light and enough tables for everyone to spread out materials. I still need to confirm the projector works with my laptop. Also I wanted to ask if you think we should set up a sign-in sheet or just do a quick headcount. Let me know if you need me to bring anything extra like markers or notepads.
