I swear, the bakery down the street makes the best sourdough I've ever had. I tried to replicate it at home and ended up with a brick that could double as a doorstop. My friend laughed and said I should stick to buying bread, but I'm determined to get it right. I watched a few tutorials online and learned about starter hydration and folding techniques. Next weekend I'm going to try again with a different recipe. Honestly, the process is kind of meditative—mixing, waiting, shaping. Even if it fails, the smell of baking bread fills the whole apartment. My neighbor knocked last time asking if I was opening a bakery. Maybe I should just buy from the pros and save myself the mess.

The other day I found an old cassette tape of my favorite band from high school. I don't even have a player anymore, but I kept it for nostalgia. Funny how music can take you right back to a specific moment. I remember driving around with the windows down, that tape on repeat. I think I'll look for a used cassette deck at the thrift store. It might be a fun weekend project to digitize them. The kids thought it was hilarious that we used to rewind with a pencil.

I can't believe I finally finished that jigsaw puzzle with the thousand pieces of autumn leaves. It took me three weeks of working on it every evening. My cat kept trying to steal the pieces, thinking they were toys. I had to put the puzzle board on a high shelf when I wasn't working on it. The satisfaction of placing that last piece was incredible. Now I'm trying to decide whether to glue it and frame it or take it apart and start a new one. There's a really cool one of a night sky with constellations that I've had my eye on. My sister said I should try a 3D puzzle next, but that feels like a whole different level of challenge. Maybe I'll look for one of a famous landmark.

Speaking of projects, I finally organized my closet after months of procrastination. I found a sweater I forgot I owned and some old concert tickets. It felt like a mini time capsule. I donated a whole bag of clothes I never wear. The closet looks so clean now that I actually want to keep it that way. I might tackle the kitchen drawers next. The junk drawer is a black hole of random keys and takeout menus from restaurants that probably closed years ago.
