Thanks for getting back to me about the weekend. I think a Saturday morning hike sounds perfect, especially if we hit the trail early before it gets too warm. Mark said he might bring his dog, which would be fun as long as everyone's comfortable with that. I was also thinking we could grab lunch afterward at that new spot downtown that just opened up — the one with the patio and the live plants inside. I've heard their sandwiches are really good, and the iced tea is bottomless. Let me know if you want to meet at my place first around 7:30 so we can carpool. Oh, I totally forgot to mention — I started reading that book you recommended last week, the historical fiction one. I wasn't sure about it at first because the first few chapters jump around a lot, but now that I'm about a third of the way through, I'm completely hooked. The way the author weaves in the cultural details without making it feel like a textbook is really impressive. I actually stayed up way too late last night reading because I kept telling myself "just one more chapter."

Anyway, I was wondering if you've read anything else by the same author. I saw they have another novel set in the same universe but following a different character, and the reviews say it's even better. I might pick that up next if you think it's worth it. Also, my cousin is looking for something new to read — do you think this would be a good fit for someone who usually sticks to thrillers? Let me know what you think when you get a chance. No hurry.
