I think you'd really enjoy the Eagle Ridge trail we talked about. It's roughly three miles round trip with a gentle incline most of the way. The view from the top opens up across the whole valley and it's especially pretty in the late afternoon when the sun catches the rock formations. There's a small creek about halfway where you can stop and rest on the flat stones. The trail is well maintained with clear markers so navigation is easy. I'd bring water and a light jacket because it gets breezy at the summit even on warm days. Parking is available at the main lot and it's free on weekdays before noon. The drive takes about 45 minutes from downtown so it's perfect for a quick morning hike. If you want more details about the route or a longer challenge there's a connecting loop that adds another two miles through the pine section. The wildflowers should be blooming in a few weeks which makes the whole experience even better. Let me know if you end up going and how it goes.

I finally finished that novel you lent me and honestly I really enjoyed it. The pacing was a bit slower in the middle section but the ending brought everything together in a satisfying way. I especially loved how the author developed the supporting characters they felt like real people with their own stories rather than just props for the main plot. The writing style reminded me of a few other books I have read recently though I cannot pinpoint exactly which ones. Have you read anything else by this author? I would be curious to know if their other books follow a similar structure or if they branch out into different genres entirely. The way they described the coastal setting made me feel like I was sitting on that porch watching the tide come in. I finished it one afternoon with a cup of tea and it was genuinely the perfect way to spend a quiet hour. Thanks again for passing it along I am going to recommend it to a friend who I think would appreciate the same kind of storytelling. Let me know if you have any other suggestions for my next read.
