I think you should definitely go for it this weekend. The weather is supposed to be perfect and you have been talking about that place for months. We visited last spring and loved the hiking trails and the little bakery near the main square. The cabin we stayed in had a porch overlooking the lake and the sunsets were incredible. You should book soon because places fill up quickly. Let me know if you want the link to where we stayed. Pack layers because evenings are chilly even when days are warm. Bring good walking shoes and maybe a rain jacket just in case. I am sure you will love it. Honestly just go for it you won't regret it at all. I can help you plan the itinerary if you want. There are some really nice spots that are off the beaten path that I can tell you about. The drive up there is also beautiful especially when the leaves are changing. Take your camera because there are some great photo opportunities along the way. I am actually thinking about going back myself maybe next month. We could make it a group trip if you are interested. Let me know what you decide.
I also wanted to tell you about this new recipe I tried last night. It was a lemon herb chicken with roasted vegetables and it turned out really well. The secret was marinating the chicken overnight with garlic and fresh rosemary. I served it with a side of quinoa and a simple green salad. It was simple to make but felt fancy enough for company. I will send you the recipe if you want to try it yourself. It is perfect for a weekend dinner when you have a little extra time to cook.

I finally started reading that book you recommended last month and I cannot put it down. I was skeptical because the genre is not usually my thing but the way the author writes the characters is really compelling. The pacing slows down a bit in the middle but the ending makes up for it completely. I also picked up another book by the same author from the library and I am excited to start that one too. Have you read any of their earlier novels I think they have a few that are supposed to be just as good. I will probably finish this one by the weekend and then I will need something new to read so please send me your top recommendations. I really trust your taste in books. Also I started going to that new coffee shop near my office and it is actually really good much better than the chain place I used to visit. They have this oat milk latte with a hint of vanilla that is amazing. I have been going there almost every morning this week. You should come with me sometime I think you would like the atmosphere. It is very relaxed with good music and plenty of seating. They also have a small selection of pastries that change daily. The almond croissant was fantastic. Let me know if you want to check it out.
I also wanted to ask you about the hiking gear you mentioned a while ago. I am planning a trip to the mountains and I need to get some proper equipment. Do you still have that list of recommended brands? I remember you saying that good boots make all the difference. I am also looking for a lightweight backpack that is comfortable for long days on the trail. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I am hoping to do some overnight hikes so I need to get a tent and sleeping bag as well. There is so much to choose from and it is a bit overwhelming honestly. Anyway let me know when you have a moment to chat about it.
