Gov. Hochul's GOP rival Blakeman calls NY vaccine bill 'un-American'

It's Friday in New York, where state lawmakers recently passed a bill that would require children attending summer camp to be up-to-date on their vaccines.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, who has yet to sign the bill, has repeatedly positioned herself as an antidote to the vaccine skepticism coming out of Washington.

But Bruce Blakeman, the Republican candidate for New York governor, said in a recent interview that the camper bill "sounds un-American" and questioned the science behind vaccines.

Here's how the gubernatorial candidates are positioning themselves on public health as the Trump administration attempts to scale back childhood vaccine recommendations.
