so I finally finished repairing that old rocking chair I found at the flea market. The rockers were badly worn on one side and I had to steam-bend new ones from ash. I used hide glue for the joints because it gives you a little working time before it sets and it is reversible if needed. The finish is three coats of shellac buffed with steel wool and paste wax. It came out looking like a family heirloom. Let me know if you want to borrow my steam box for your project because it saves a ton of time over bending dry wood.

the community garden meeting went well last night. We decided on a layout with raised beds along the south side and a small seating area near the tool shed. The soil test showed we need to add lime to balance the pH before planting in the spring. I volunteered to coordinate the compost bins and set up a watering schedule. If you are still interested in helping with the herb garden section we could use your input on which varieties to plant. Let me know what you think about the proposed layout I sent over because we need to finalize it by next week.
