Regarding the weekend trip, the cabin we looked at has three bedrooms and a large deck facing east so the morning light is nice. I checked the calendar and the dates you mentioned in early October are still open. The owner mentioned the leaves should be near peak color then. I would plan to bring layers because it gets cool in the evenings. There is a good hiking trail about a mile from the cabin that loops around a small lake. If you want to cook one night, the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, and basic utensils. I can bring a cooler with ingredients so we do not have to search for a grocery store after arrival. Let me know if you prefer a Saturday to Saturday booking or a Friday to Friday one. Either way I will reach out to the owner tomorrow to hold the reservation.
