Oh yeah, I finally got around to trying that recipe you sent me last week. It turned out pretty well actually — I was worried the sauce would be too thin but it thickened up nicely after simmering for a few extra minutes. I added a bit more garlic than what the recipe called for because you know me, I can never have enough garlic. The whole family liked it which is always a win. Next time I think I'll try it with some fresh herbs instead of dried ones to see if that changes the flavor profile at all. Let me know if you have any other recipes you'd recommend, I'm on a bit of a cooking kick lately and I'm looking for new things to try out. I also picked up that cookbook you mentioned and the section on one-pot meals looks really promising.

Hey, I was just thinking about our conversation from the other day about weekend plans. I ended up booking that campsite I was telling you about — the one up near the lake with the hiking trails nearby. It's going to be a nice little getaway even if it's just for a couple of days. I'm hoping the weather holds up because I really want to do some kayaking while we're there. I picked up a few new books to bring along since there's not much to do at night except sit by the fire and read. It's been a while since I've taken some real time off so I'm looking forward to just unplugging for a bit. I'll send you some pictures when I get back. Let me know if you want to grab coffee before I head out.
