Hey, got your message yesterday. Really great seeing the photos from your trip up north. That hiking trail looks incredible. I’ve been meaning to ask about the best time to visit. We’ve been thinking about taking a week off in early fall. I think that would be perfect for the foliage. Anyway, the recipe you mentioned turned out really well. I adjusted the seasoning a bit and added some roasted peppers. We’ll have to do dinner together soon. Let me know if you’re free next Saturday. Also, that book you recommended—I’m halfway through and loving it. The characters are so well written. Talk soon. wsuBXYdOJVdubSU Oh, and the weather here has been perfect for outdoor projects. We finally finished painting the deck last weekend.

Just got back from the garden center. Picked up some lavender and a new hydrangea variety I hadn’t seen before. The soil here needs a lot of amending so I’m mixing in compost this weekend. My neighbor recommended a slow-release fertilizer that works well for clay. Also stopped by the hardware store for a new pruning shear — my old ones are completely dull. I’m hoping the weather holds out because I’d like to get the front bed mulched before the weekend. The kids are excited to help with planting, though I know it’ll turn into a mud fight. We’re also trying a new pizza recipe tonight from that cooking show you mentioned. It uses a sourdough base and I’ve been feeding my starter for three days now. Should be interesting.
