Hey there, I got your message about the hiking trail you mentioned last week. I actually ended up going this past Saturday morning with a couple of friends. We started around 7:30 and the weather was perfect, not too humid and a nice breeze the whole way. The trail was in great shape, a few muddy patches near the creek crossing but nothing too bad. We saw a deer about halfway up which was really cool. The summit view was incredible, you could see the whole valley and the lake on the far side. We sat up there for maybe 20 minutes just taking it in. I packed sandwiches and we had a little picnic. The descent was a bit tricky on the loose gravel but we took it slow. My legs are still sore two days later honestly. I think you would really enjoy that route, it's challenging but rewarding. Let me know if you want me to send you the trail map link. Also, I tried that new coffee shop near the trailhead after and their cold brew was fantastic, really smooth and not acidic at all. 3uYTYlVgrkiqu We should plan another hike together soon before the weather turns. I'm free most weekends in the coming weeks so just let me know what works for you. I also heard there's a longer loop that connects to the ridge trail that might be worth trying next time. Anyway, just wanted to share how it went. Hope you're doing well.

Oh, I completely forgot to tell you about the pasta I made last night. I was experimenting because I had some leftover mushrooms and a bit of cream that needed to be used up. I diced an onion and sautéed it in butter with a little garlic, then added the mushrooms and let them brown for a few minutes. I poured in maybe half a cup of heavy cream and let it simmer until it thickened slightly. Meanwhile I boiled some fettuccine and saved about a cup of the pasta water before draining. I tossed the pasta into the sauce with a generous handful of Parmesan and a little of that reserved water to loosen it up. It turned out really creamy and rich without being too heavy. I finished it with fresh cracked pepper and a pinch of nutmeg which gave it a warm depth. Honestly it was one of those rare dinners that tasted better than I expected. I ate it with a simple side salad dressed with lemon and olive oil. I'm already thinking about making it again this weekend but maybe adding some peas and pancetta for a little saltiness and color. You know how I love a good weeknight pasta that doesn't take forever but still feels special. Anyway, thought I'd share since you mentioned you were looking for easy dinner ideas. Let me know if you want the full measurements.
