The hike up to the ridge took longer than we expected but the views made it worth the effort. We stopped for lunch near the old ranger station. I will send you the photos we took from the summit later this evening after I have sorted through them. Let me know if you would like to join us for the next trip we are planning in early autumn. The weather should be perfect for camping under the stars without the summer crowds. We are thinking of exploring the northern trail loop next time.

I spent the afternoon sorting through the boxes in the attic and found my old collection of vinyl albums. The covers are a bit worn but the records seem to be in good shape. I set up the turntable last weekend and tested a few of them. The sound quality is surprisingly warm and rich compared to digital streaming. I recall buying most of them at a small shop near campus during my college years. The shop had a distinctive smell of old paper and coffee. It was a relaxing way to spend a rainy afternoon.
