Hey thanks for checking in about the long weekend. We ended up taking a trip up the coast and stopped at a few little towns we had never visited before. The weather was crisp and clear and the ocean light was stunning in the late afternoon. We found a small inn that had a fire pit out back and spent both evenings just sitting there talking and watching the stars come out. The days were slow and unhurried which was exactly what we needed. We wandered into a bookstore that had a resident cat and a whole room dedicated to local history. I picked up a paperback about old lighthouse keepers that I am already halfway through. We also stumbled into a bakery that made the best sourdough I have had in years. The line was out the door but it moved fast and was absolutely worth the wait. We brought home a loaf and some cinnamon rolls that disappeared within a day. I would definitely recommend that stretch of coastline if you ever want a low key getaway. The driving was easy and there was something interesting to see every few miles. Let me know if you want the names of the places we stopped.

Hey I wanted to follow up on that conversation we had about the community garden plot. I finally went down to check on the space this morning and it is in better shape than I expected. The soil is actually pretty rich and someone already turned it over last fall so that saves a bunch of work. I am thinking of doing tomatoes along the back fence and then peppers and herbs in the front beds. Basil mint and rosemary should do really well in that corner that gets full afternoon sun. There is also a small shed on site with basic tools that everyone can use which is handy. A few of the other plot holders stopped by while I was there and they seem like a friendly group. One person grows mostly flowers and another specializes in heirloom beans. I am looking forward to trading tips and maybe some produce later in the season. The water access is good too there are spigots every few plots and a long hose that reaches. I will send you a photo once I get the first rows planted. If you want to come by sometime and see the setup just let me know. I am usually there on Saturday mornings watering and weeding.
