I think the best approach for Saturday is to start around ten so we can beat the crowds. I was looking at that new hiking trail near the reservoir and it seems like it takes about three hours to do the full loop. We should bring plenty of water and maybe pack a lunch because there aren't many spots along the way to stop. I asked Marta if she wanted to join and she said she would check her schedule. Let me know if you want to invite anyone else from the group. Also I wanted to mention that the forecast shows it should be clear but probably cool in the morning so bring a jacket. We can meet at the main parking lot and go from there. I will bring the trail map I printed and some snacks for everyone. If traffic is light it should be about a thirty minute drive from my place.

I also wanted to ask if you have a preference for dinner afterward. I was thinking we could try that new place on Elm street that opened last month. They have outdoor seating and I heard the menu changes weekly based on what is fresh. I will call ahead to see if they take reservations for a group of six or seven. Let me know what you think about the timing because I can adjust if needed. I am flexible on the afternoon plans too if you want to do something else after the hike.

I have been thinking about the best way to organize the bookshelf situation. I found some sturdy wooden crates at the supply store that stack really well and they are not too heavy. My plan is to group the cookbooks together on one side and then arrange the novels by author last name. I also picked up some small labels that I can write on with chalk. The whole project should take maybe an afternoon once I clear out the space. I will send you a photo when it is done so you can see how it looks. Let me know if you have any ideas for what to do with the extra shelf space. I was thinking of putting a small plant there but I have not decided yet. Also I wanted to mention that the delivery window for the new lamp is Wednesday afternoon so I will be home to receive it.

The recipe I tried last night turned out pretty well. It was a simple pasta dish with roasted vegetables and a light lemon dressing. I made a double batch so there are leftovers for lunch today. I think next time I will add some pine nuts for texture. I also want to experiment with using different herbs because I think rosemary would work nicely. If you want I can write down the steps and send them to you. It did not take very long to prepare which was nice. The key is to roast the vegetables long enough to get them slightly caramelized. I used bell peppers zucchini and cherry tomatoes and they all came out well.
