I think it would be better to meet up on Saturday instead of Friday. The weather forecast shows rain on Friday and I really wanted to walk through the botanical gardens. Saturday looks sunny and warm. We could start at the cafe near the entrance around 10 AM, then take the loop trail. After that, maybe grab lunch at that new Italian place? Let me know if that works for your schedule. I know you have that early meeting on Monday so Sunday might be a rest day for you. Also, I heard the gardens have a special exhibit on succulents this month, which should be interesting.
Another thing: I can drive if you want, my car is available. Just need to fill up the tank before. Let me know what time works best for you.

I was thinking about what you said regarding the hiking trip next month. If we leave by 7 AM we can avoid the midday heat. The trailhead parking fills up fast. I looked at the map and there is a shorter loop that still has great views. We could also bring sandwiches and eat at the summit. Let me know if you prefer a longer or shorter route. I will bring extra water just in case. Also, I checked the park website and they allow dogs on leashes, so you could bring yours. That would be nice.
Another thing: we should consider carpooling to save gas. My car gets better mileage. Let me know what day works for you.
